Engage Care Partners Signs with Parkinson Association of Alabama

Engage Care Partners LLC has officially kicked-off it's first engagement in the Non-Profit world by partnering with the Parkinson Association of Alabama (PAA). The purpose of this engagement is to conduct an analysis and determine the potential optimization of the Parkinson Disease Resource Center and revitalization of the Care Navigation programs of today and for the program's future growth and sustainability.

"I am thrilled with this engagement," states owner, Brooklyn White. "The PAA wants to be the number one GO TO resource for everything Parkinson's throughout the state of Alabama. My mission is to help them achieve that, and I believe we can do it."

Over the next six months, Engage Care Partners will be conducting the research and data analysis needed to build a strategic plan of sustainability and growth so that those diagnosed with Parkinson's and their caregivers will have the ability to self-navigate needed resources, but also tap into Care Navigators that desire to be provided with a more hands on approach. The distinguishing factor between what the PAA will offer compared to other affiliate organizations is connecting people with the local resources they need.

"When my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2012, we were basically given a prescription, told he had Parkinson's, and see you in six months," says White. "I've learned many have had and continue to have that same experience. It was up to us to seek out any information we could - and navigating and finding resources at that time was very challenging."

Whenever anyone receives a diagnosis such as Parkinson's Disease, or really any diagnosis for that matter - patients and their families should be provided with knowledge and education about what resources, programs, and support exists for them in their local areas.

"There are more than 25 support groups that meet throughout Alabama dedicated to Parkinson's Disease. What an achievement since my dad's diagnosis! Now, we need to connect people to them. Movement programs and other complimentary therapies are also excellent opportunities to get moving and keep moving while living with Parkinson's. This is critical to anyone facing motor symptoms and movement disorders," says White.

"The hope and encouragement that can be gained through education, combined with the ability to connect with others on the same journey -- these are the items needed to gain acceptance and adopt the mindset for choosing to Live Your Best Life with Parkinson's."

Engage Care Partners LLC's mission is to help those impacted by neurodegenerative conditions better navigate care and the common administration that goes with advanced planning - financially, medically, and legally. Since inception in January of 2022, we have helped clients with the coordination of care and allowed them the ability to prepare long-term to ease frustrations and anxiety that can come during a very stressful and emotional time.

"Having the opportunity to apply my previous career experience with my passion to help others on the journey with Parkinson's locally is a dream come true," says White. "When we were on the journey, I always found myself saying -- 'It just shouldn't be this hard.' And it shouldn't be hard. With the right work, focus and commitment - we will make a difference in making the journey easier - one engagement at a time."
